The Founder Who Still Meets You Himself
Over 52 years on, the man who started it all is still on the floor, still racing, and still personally involved in the cars and the clients.
Farouk Dangor
In 1974, Farouk Dangor opened the doors of Speedy Car Sales in Klerksdorp with just R300 in capital and an unshakeable belief that a handshake should mean something. 52 years and multiple ABSA Golden Dealer awards later, that belief still runs the business.
He is also a genuine motorsport pioneer: the first Indian racer to represent South Africa in 1980, a veteran of the 1992 Nürburgring 24 Hours in a BMW M3, and still competing today — including the Speed Classic Cape Town hillclimb in a Ferrari SF90 Stradale. That racing eye for a great machine is poured into every car we offer.
What clients remember most, though, is that Farouk still meets buyers personally, still inspects the cars himself, and still answers the questions that matter. No call centres. Just the founder, hands-on, every day.
